Mary Ann Gemmill is the Superintendent of Christian County Schools, having been appointed July 1, 2012. Ms Gemmill has had considerable experience in public school administration, human resource management, strategic planning and overall effective operation of public schools. Previously, she has served public education in two Tennessee systems: Knox County Schools and Metropolitan Nashville. Additionally, she served in Rockford Public Schools in Illinois and Collier County Public Schools in southwest Florida.
Previous positions include classroom teacher, assistant principal and principal, Director of Human Resources, Elementary Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Director of Federal Programs and Grants, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, and Chief Administrative Officer. The breadth of her expertise covers a wide area of responsibilities, thereby providing insights to the total school operations.
Ms Gemmill received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee; a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Tennessee; Endorsement in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University; and +45 in School Administration from Cumberland University and Tennessee State University.
Mary Ann’s son, Billy, and his wife, Kendall reside nearby in Nashville, TN. She also has a sister, brother-in-law, brother, sister-in-law and several nieces and a nephew who live in Tennessee. Ms Gemmill is married to Kevin M. Stockman. The couple live in Hopkinsville, KY.
